I’ve been having some problems with the RSS feed for the blog. For the last few weeks, I was getting every post double in my RSS reader (Google Reader). Then I realised that I hasn’t updated my feed address since I started redirecting it via Feedburner – updating it solved that problem. So if you’re getting my posts twice, check that you’re using the Feedburner address. I don’t understand why the old feed address is posting everything twice, but this at least solved the problem for me.
Some people have been having problems validating the feed, but until now I’ve not been able to replicate that. If you have problems, please let me know what happened and what reader you’re using and I’ll see if there’s a pattern.
Also, since I changed the theme of the blog some months ago, my RSS feed gives only post summaries even though all settings instruct the feed to be full text. I really don’t like abbreviated RSS feeds, and I apologise if you’ve been annoyed by this. I’ve tried to find out why this is happening with no luck. I’ll keep looking and hope to get it fixed soon.
If anyone has advice, I’d be grateful if you could leave me a comment or send me a tweet. I use the Genesis framework on WordPress, currently 3.0.5 (updating to 3.1 soon).
Update, 25/02: Thanks to @andreazonca for sending the link to this post, which gives a fix to Feedburner not showing full text feeds. I tried modifying the feed address from ‘rss’ to ‘rss2′, and Feedburner then couldn’t validate the address. So that didn’t work for me.
